ZAM

Growth Specialist at ZAM

Own the full client-growth lifecycle, from finding a business that could benefit from ZAM through to delivering the project and growing the account. Remote — United States, Canada, Spain, Philippines & International. Commission on what you close, a recurring commission on what you keep, and a country-specific base after your first closed deal.

About the role

We are looking for a Growth Specialist to take ownership of the full client-growth lifecycle. This is not a traditional lead-generation role. You will be responsible for helping ZAM grow from the top of the funnel all the way through the successful delivery and expansion of client relationships. You will identify businesses that could benefit from ZAM, start conversations with decision-makers, develop those relationships, sell ZAM’s services, close deals, and then help manage those projects from beginning to end. You will have significant ownership over the client relationship and will be expected to operate with a high degree of initiative, professionalism, organization, and commercial judgment.

  • Company: ZAM
  • Position type: Independent Contractor
  • Location: Remote — United States, Canada, Spain, Philippines & International
  • Compensation: Commission on what you close, a recurring commission on what you keep, and a country-specific base after your first closed deal

Scope of work

  • Marketing and lead generation: Research target markets and industries, identify ideal customer profiles, find companies and decision-makers who may benefit from ZAM, build prospect lists, research competitors and market opportunities, identify new markets and verticals. Develop outbound campaigns and outreach strategies, conduct business development, network with potential clients and partners, develop referral opportunities, develop messaging and positioning, experiment with new growth channels.
  • Sales and business development: Respond to inbound opportunities, conduct prospect discovery, understand the prospect's business and goals, identify operational problems and opportunities, determine whether ZAM is a good fit. Present ZAM's services and conduct sales calls, prepare proposals and follow up, manage the sales pipeline, handle objections, negotiate within approved parameters, move opportunities toward a decision.
  • Closing deals: Understand client pain points and connect them to ZAM's capabilities. Build trust with decision-makers, manage objections, follow up consistently. Help prospects make informed purchasing decisions and take ownership of getting deals across the finish line. You will not be expected to make unauthorized commitments on behalf of ZAM.
  • Client onboarding: Confirm client objectives, project scope and deliverables. Organize kickoff meetings and introduce the appropriate ZAM team members. Establish project communication, milestones and timelines, and ensure expectations align with the signed agreement.
  • End-to-end project management: Build project plans and define milestones, coordinate internal team members and contractors, manage timelines, track deliverables and scope, coordinate change requests. Manage client communication and expectations, identify risks, escalate major issues promptly, maintain documentation, coordinate final delivery and follow-up. You don't need to personally perform every technical task; your job is to make sure the right people are doing the right work and the client receives the outcome they were promised.
  • Client relationships and account growth: Maintain regular communication, understand client priorities, monitor satisfaction, identify problems early, support renewals and generate referrals. Grow accounts through additional projects, automation and AI implementation, operational improvements, new systems, retainers and additional ZAM capabilities.
  • CRM and pipeline management: Keep accurate records of opportunities and client relationships. If it isn't documented, we can't manage it.

What success looks like

Success is measured by your ability to create and grow profitable client relationships for ZAM.

  • Growth — qualified opportunities generated, new prospects contacted, qualified discovery calls, new pipeline created, new partnerships and referrals
  • Sales — deals closed, revenue generated, closing rate, sales-cycle efficiency, average deal value
  • Client success — successful project delivery, client satisfaction, client retention, expansion revenue, referrals generated
  • Project management — projects delivered on time and within agreed scope, clear client communication, effective coordination of resources, early identification of project risks

Who we're looking for

Commercially minded, entrepreneurial, organized and highly self-directed. You may be a great fit if you:

  • enjoy talking to business owners and executives
  • are comfortable selling and asking for the sale
  • can build genuine relationships
  • are not afraid of rejection
  • take initiative without being told what to do
  • can identify business opportunities
  • can manage multiple conversations at once
  • are highly organized
  • can manage projects and deadlines
  • communicate clearly
  • are comfortable working remotely and independently
  • learn quickly
  • think in terms of outcomes rather than tasks
  • take ownership when something goes wrong
  • want your compensation to reflect your performance

Required skills and experience

We value demonstrated ability over credentials. Relevant experience may include:

  • Sales and business development: B2B sales, business development, account management, SaaS or professional services sales, strategic partnerships
  • Marketing and growth: growth marketing, agency experience, consulting, client success, entrepreneurship
  • Operations and management: project management, operations consulting, managing multiple projects, CRM systems, remote collaboration

Nice to have

Experience selling professional services, consulting, technology, automation, AI, SaaS or business solutions is particularly valuable. You don't need to be an expert in every area. Most importantly, you should be able to understand a business problem and communicate why a solution is valuable.

  • AI and automation: no-code/low-code tools, workflow design, process mapping, sales automation
  • Business operations: process optimization, operations consulting, revenue operations
  • Technology and SaaS: CRM systems, digital marketing, project management platforms

Compensation

A performance-oriented independent contractor position, structured so that strong performers can significantly increase their earnings. The exact rates are set out in your offer.

  • A closing commission: on qualifying revenue from deals you originate and close, subject to ZAM’s commission terms.
  • A recurring revenue commission: for qualifying recurring client revenue you originate and close, so the accounts you keep keep paying you.
  • Country-specific base compensation: after your first qualifying closed deal, documented in your individual offer and Country Addendum.

Work arrangement

  • Engagement: Independent Contractor
  • Location: Remote
  • Geographies: United States, Canada, Spain, the Philippines, and other approved jurisdictions
  • Schedule: Flexible and results-oriented, subject to client and project requirements
  • Reporting: Works with ZAM leadership and relevant team members

What we offer

  • Performance-based earning potential
  • Work with businesses across multiple industries
  • Exposure to AI, automation, operations and business systems
  • A remote-first environment
  • A high degree of autonomy
  • The opportunity to build long-term client relationships
  • The opportunity to grow into larger commercial or leadership responsibilities
  • Direct exposure to business owners and decision-makers
  • The opportunity to build both sales and project-management expertise

Why this role is different

Most companies separate marketing, sales, project management and account management into four jobs. At ZAM the Growth Specialist owns a much larger part of that journey — turning business opportunities into successful, long-term client relationships. We're looking for owners, not order-takers.

How to apply

If you have measurable results, include them — revenue generated, deals closed, average deal size, targets achieved, clients acquired, growth percentages, projects managed, client retention, partnerships generated. We care more about what you've actually accomplished than what your previous job title was.

  • Your resume or LinkedIn profile
  • A brief introduction
  • Examples of deals or business you have personally generated or closed
  • Your experience with project or client management
  • The country and city from which you will primarily work
  • Your preferred contact information
